Grass Roots Social Club is a not-for-profit movement that brings together people who are negatively impacted by the Misuse of Drugs Act (1977). The club was set up voluntarily by a small group of activists and campaigners who care about creating a safe space for people to come together and celebrate our beliefs. We take a human-rights based approach to promoting inclusion, social development, rights advocacy, education and empowerment. Our mission is underpinned by the FREDA principles. We are committed to interagency collaboration to highlight the human rights implications of drugs policy and lobbying for reform to improve citizens quality of life. We are dedicated to seeing the value in every human being and dismantling the stigma that gripes substance use by organising and facilitating social and informational events that celebrate our culture and showcase the talents among our community.
